Framework
The Five Pillars
Pillar 01
STEAM Education
Strengthening interdisciplinary, multicultural science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics education, integrating creative thinking, data visualization and design as core parts of scientific research and communication.
Pillar 02
Active Learning Methodologies
Promoting student-centered active learning strategies: project-based learning (PBL), problem-based learning, and phenomenon-based learning. These foster critical thinking, collaboration and practical application of scientific knowledge.
Pillar 03
Innovation & Scientific Entrepreneurship
Developing skills to transform scientific knowledge into innovative solutions with social impact. Workshops on intellectual property, business models, innovation design and pitch presentations — training professionals capable of leading scientific and technological entrepreneurship projects.
Pillar 04
Access to Graduate Programs
Facilitating concrete pathways to graduate programs at institutions in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. Connecting participants with mentors, admissions teams, funding (including Fulbright) and academic networks that enable student mobility and international professional development.
Pillar 05
STEAM Citizen Diplomats
Training a new generation of leaders committed to hemispheric scientific cooperation, capable of building bridges between institutions, cultures and disciplines as agents of change in their communities — promoting international collaboration and equitable access to educational opportunities.
Pilot Program • 2026
UT Tyler Pilot
An Argentinian undergraduate in chemical engineering experienced U.S. approaches to STEAM education, hands-on laboratory research, and cross-cultural scientific collaboration — laying the groundwork for what became the Alliance's hemispheric model.
- Tyler, Texas — February 17–20, 2026
- Led by Dr. Teresa Kennedy, PhD & Dr. Michael Odell, PhD, MAT (UT Tyler)
- Organized by the Colorado Chapter of Partners of the Americas
- Online Preparation → TX Immersion → Post-Program
- Visits to UT Tyler • Jasper Dept. of Chemical Engineering
First Official Exchange • 2026
An Entrepreneurial Look Into the Sciences
Interdisciplinary program in Colorado and Wyoming connecting science, innovation and entrepreneurship across four Latin American nations — the Alliance's first official exchange and a blueprint for what comes next.
- 11 participants from 4 countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru)
- 3 months (Jan–Apr 2026)
- CUA • CU Boulder • CU Denver • CU Anschutz • Colorado State • Univ. of Wyoming
- Virtual Pre-Departure → D.C. + CO/WY Immersion → Post-Exchange Project
- Visits to U.S. Dept. of State • Smithsonian • U.S. Patent Office
- Personalized research lab placements
- English & business communication training via Language Thread, LLC
Faculty Exchange • 2026
Visiting Faculty Fellowship
A pioneering faculty mobility initiative that brought an Argentinian professor from Universidad Nacional del Comahue — a GLOBE Master Trainer with over 20 years of collaboration with NASA/GLOBE across Latin America — into U.S. classrooms, labs, and research environments to exchange methodologies and strengthen lasting institutional ties.
- Visited UT Tyler • CUA • CU Boulder
- Participated in courses, labs, and faculty exchanges
- Strengthened research ties between U.S. and Argentine institutions
