Our Story • 2024–2026

How the Alliance Was Born

The STEAM Education Alliance of the Americas is a hemispheric network for educational, scientific and entrepreneurial collaboration between students, teachers, researchers, higher education institutions and civil society organizations from Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada and the United States.

The Alliance grew from the successful 100K Strong in the Americas bilateral project "Collaboration for Climate Education Capacity Building" (2024–2025) between Universidad Nacional del Comahue (Argentina) and University of Texas at Tyler (USA). During the What Works Conference in Lima, Peru (2025), the Colorado Chapter of Partners of the Americas proposed scaling this model into a hemispheric network. The first official exchange was organized and hosted by the Colorado Chapter of Partners of the Americas, and co-coordinated by Ana Beatriz Prieto and Nicolás Arízaga, recipients of the Group Exchange Facilitation Funding awarded by Partners of the Americas and the U.S. Department of State.
